Arches National Park: Three Kings

by Krishna on Sep.29, 2009, under photography

I forget the actual name of this formation but it looked like 3 kings standing back to back to me. It was one of the random stops we made near the entrance to Arches.

Arches National Park: Partition Arch

by Krishna on Sep.29, 2009, under photography

There is a cool trail behind the landscape arch and wall arch called the Devils garden trail. It is completely undeveloped and you basically have to follow a couple of stacked rocks to find your way. This picture is from one of the arches along the way called the Partition Arch. On the other side is a small ledge with a sheer drop off. I tried to get a pano from there too but it didn’t turn out very well.

Arches National Park: Fiery Furnace

by Krishna on Sep.29, 2009, under photography

We went on a ranger lead hike through the Fiery Furnace. Contrary to its name, the furnace is actually cooler than the rest of the desert surrounding it. The name has something to do with how it looks in the evening when the sun is setting. The hike itself is pretty easy with a few small cliffs, chimneys etc. I would definitely recommend going on it if you can.

This picture was taken on one of the last stops along the trail.

Arches National Park: Delicate Arch

by Krishna on Sep.29, 2009, under photography

Probably the most famous arch at Arches National Park. The trek to the arch involved a small hike. We made it here right before sunset.
