Chinese 1A Final Skit
Well, my first Chinese class at IVC is over. It was an aggressive course requiring me to learn and remember 13-20 characters a week but I had a great time. The following presentation is the final skit I made with 3 other classmates and presented in class. It contains plenty of minor mistakes and horrendous accents but it makes for good comedy
This is also my first attempt at creating video using my new camera. It turned out much better than I expected. The microphone on the 5D is surprisingly good.
Hwy 1

Took a trip out to Ventura to figure out how to get to the Channel Islands. Seems like there are plenty of tours available.. just have to wake up at 5 am on a weekend.. bleh. Gonna try to arrange something in the next few weeks.
On the way back, I drove along Hwy 1 and enjoyed the highway between Ventura and Santa Monica. I almost had the whole highway to myself; no traffic at all.
20 Mule Team Canyon, Death Valley

Death Valley was absolutely amazing. Along the way we stopped at the 20 Mule Team Canyon. The hills here are about 100m high and composed of borax, gypsum and talc. The hills crumble under your feet if you try to climb any of them. The view from the top of the hills though is magnificent. Image composed of 31 pictures.
Red Rock Canyon

This past weekend, I made a trip out to Red Rock Canyon with my brother and a friend. The canyon is about a 1 hr drive outside of Vegas and has stunning scenery. The hills there are composed on rocks of 3 different shared (gray, yellow and red) and are very fun to hike/boulder. I saw a bunch of people rock-climbing there too. Must go back for another visit soon.
The picture below is 360 panorama from the top of one of the rock outcroppings.
